Skilled For Success

Skilled for Success was funded by the Skills Funding Agency and European Social Fund.

It was managed by the Leeds City Council and Learning Partnerships were the lead partner offering learning opportunities in partnerships with Solange Robinson Consultancy, St Luke’s Cares, Leeds City College, Jobs and Skills (LCC), Leeds College of Building and Vera Media.

Skilled for Success offered pre-entry, entry and level 1 learning provision to residents with low or no qualifications living in designated areas of Leeds.

The project, which ran from October 2009 to June 2011 was a major success and supported hundreds of people in improving skills and life chances.

Here are the key project statistics:

  • Number of participants started on accredited and/or non accredited provision = 788
  • Number of participants achieved accredited and/or non accredited provision = 675
  • Number of participants progressed into further learning, employment and volunteering = 381
