Talent Match

The "Talent Match" programme is funded through "The BIG Lottery" and is delivered by learning partnerships. Talent Match aims to work with young people who are longer term unemployed and Work Programme Completers. We aim to address any barriers to employment and hope to offer the appropriate interventions to enable young people to gain and sustain employment.

This is an ideal opportunity for young people identified as needing more intensive 1-1 support in order to progress.

To be eligible for Learning Partnerships' Talent Match programme, you must:

  • Live in the Leeds area
  • Be 18-24 years old
  • Have been unemployed for 12 months or more
  • Have full legal residency in the UK which includes being an EU resident for the last 3 years, or be in possession of a valid VISA. The young person must be legally able to obtain work in the UK.

You will be supported into identified activities and, where necessary, interventions to help you move closer to employment. With support of up to 12 months, Learning Partnerships' Key Workers will build up a relationship with you, assessing your needs and developing a support plan to help resolve identified barriers.

We will provide 1-1 support to acquire a range of generic employability skills including:

  • Good basic literacy and numeracy skills
  • Personal, motivational and organisational skills
  • Increased confidence, self-esteem and aspirations
  • Intensive job search and application skills

Using our network of recognised employers, we may be able to offer young people the opportunity to participate in work experience or volunteering activities.

Young people gaining employment will also be supported for 6 months in work, ensuring where possible, progression is sustained.
