Skills Training Employment Pathways (STEP) Programme

Skills Training Employment Pathways (STEP) Programme

Developed by DWP; funded by Bradford Metropolitan Council, Leeds City Council with match funding from European Social Fund (ESF). Leeds City Council manage the provision in Leeds and Learning Partnerships are sub-contracted as a specialised provider to offer tailored 1:1 and group support to improve the English and employability skills of long-term unemployed aged 25+ from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities (BAME) helping beneficiaries move closer to/into employment. We are targeted with 50 starts per year until the programme completes in December 2019.

STEP is voluntary for particpants and will focus on delivery of a package of tailored support to address worklessness of unemployed disadvantaged individuals. The provision aims to engage with the individual, identify and address barriers to work, using a range of specialist support/provision to move participants into sustained work at the earliest opportunity.

All participants will be assigned a key worker who will offer flexible support and interventions, responsive to the individual's needs and inclusive of a strong mentoring approach.

For more information, or to speak to a member of staff regarding the STEP Programme, call us on 0113 3806524 and ask to speak to Carl, our Project Co-Ordinator for the programme.
