2 <Way> Street has been part of Learning Partnerships for over 12 years.

Working in the heart of east Leeds, 2 <Way> Street is a green spaces project set up to improve the local area through community work, community cohesion, raising awareness of the environment and reducing waste locally. It achieves this by:

Running gardening clubs - to highlight where our food comes from and to get children, young people and adults interested in growing things for themselves.

Piloting Green Teams in schools – by introducing the need for better involvement in reducing waste in the classroom.  The children can then be green champions for their schools!

Building links with the local Recycling Site– to highlight the impact recycling has on the city of Leeds to make it a better and more efficient place for all.

Lesson plans and presentations - on the environment and how we can all play a part.

Street play – helping local residents to arrange a street play event to encourage communities to work and play together in a safe place.

Volunteering – getting our neighbourhood involved in improving the area for themselves.

Do you live in east Leeds?  Is there an area in your community you would like to improve?  Would you like to volunteer on our green spaces projects? You can get in touch with the project on:
